LCSW- VP of Compliance and Ancillary Services
Sara is responsible for oversight of regulatory and operational compliance and ancillary services within the hospice company. She directly manages multiple departments, including social work, chaplaincy, volunteer services, clinical education and community based palliative care. Sara has been a driving force in redeveloping the support service departments over the past four years and supports all departments in maintaining high quality assurance and adherence to state and federal regulations. Sara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Northern Iowa and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of New York at Albany. She has been a practicing LCSW in the field of health care for over 18 years, with experience in policy development, elder law, home health, skilled nursing and hospice. Sara is a tireless advocate for quality end of life care through community outreach and education. She has been a speaker at both national and state-wide conferences on the topic of improving the conversation regarding hospice care and is an expert in advance care planning. Sara serves on the board of directors for the Chicago End of Life Coalition, is a certified POLST trainer for the State of Illinois and was appointed to the Clinical Advisory Committee for Leading Age in 2011. She has been a guest lecturer at Loyola University and The University of Chicago and currently serves as a field instructor for both Judson and Aurora Universities.
